Make it plain.
I help mission driven organizations say what they mean in words their people actually use. Six years inside federal communications, five published books, and a talk show built on the same idea.

Three doors
About
Clear words, built for people who have to act on them.
I spent six years writing inside federal agencies, where a single paragraph might travel from a scientist to a senior executive to a member of the public without ever getting easier to read. My job was to make sure it did.
I do the same work now for organizations with a mission and a small team, through Mergia Communications. Alongside that I write children's books and Bible curriculum, lead children's ministry at CJC Church in Northern Virginia, and host The Abe-Unit Show.
Different rooms, same discipline. Take something true and important, and hand it over in a form the listener can carry.
Mergia Communications
Fractional Communications Lead
Senior communications leadership for organizations that need the thinking of a director without the headcount of one. I take ownership of the message and the calendar, and I report to you like a member of the team.
Associations
Member communications and executive voice, on a publishing rhythm that keeps your members informed.
Christian nonprofits
Development and ministry communications that hold to the mission and still move a donor to act.
Mission driven schools
Admissions and family communications, on a calendar that keeps the school community close.
Capabilities
Executive correspondence
Letters, remarks, board updates, and leadership messages written in the voice of the person signing them.
Internal communications
Newsletters, staff updates, and announcement plans that reach the whole team on schedule.
Technical translation
Science, policy, and program content rewritten so a general audience can follow it start to finish.
Message architecture
One set of words for the organization, so the website, the pitch, and the annual report agree with each other.
Editorial systems
A content calendar, templates, and a review path your team can run after the engagement ends.
Website design and build
Fast, clean sites for organizations that need their front door to match the work behind it.
Where the reps came from
Big organizations with short deadlines and long review chains.
Federal communications teaches a specific muscle. Every sentence gets read by someone with authority to change it, and the audience on the other end still needs to understand it the first time. A small mission driven team feels the same pressure with a board and a donor base watching.
The entry point
The Clarity Audit
A focused review of how your organization communicates right now, delivered as a written document you can hand to your board. It is the fastest way to see whether we work well together, and it stands on its own if we stop there.
- A review of your current materials and how often they go out
- A written findings document with what is working and what to build next
- A prioritized set of moves for the next ninety days
- A working session to walk through all of it with your team
Books & Curriculum
Scripture, handed to a child in words they can carry.
Five published books and a growing library of curriculum, written for teachers and for the parents doing this at the kitchen table.
